Netaji Subhas Open University

Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) is dedicated to the memory of Subhas Chandra Bose. An act passed on 20th August, 1997 made provisions for the establishment of NSOU. It is the premier State Open University of India. It carries on its functions from four offices situated in Kolkata. To reach the poor, the deprived, and the disadvantaged population this university has set up a wide network of study centers. There are about 145 study centers at present but the number of study centers will increase in the near future. At present there are about 95,000 students enrolled in NSOU.
